Hublot King Power Knockout World Boxing Council Watch
By EDITORIAL STAFF
Boxing seems to be the sport flavor of choice for many watch brands in 2012. You know it is serious when Hublot gets into the game. Their focus now is on a limited edition set for the World Boxing Council (WBC). The game Hublot is playing is pretty interesting actually. Hublot will produce 12 unique King Power "Knockout" WBC watches. As I understand it, each will look unique and be associated with one of 12 "legendary" boxers.
Each of the watches will be auctioned off for charity, and the winners will get the watches presented to them by the boxers themselves. It would be more fun if it also included a few round in the ring with them. Tyson is on the list!
The 12 legendary fighters associated with the Hublot limited edition boxing watch are as follows: Lennox Lewis - Julio Cesar Chavez - Mike Tyson - Sugar Ray Leonard - George Foreman - Marvelous Marvin Hagler - Tommy Harns - Roberto Duran - Oscar de la Hoya - Evander Holyfield - Jeff Fenech - Larry Holmes
The King Power chronograph based watch is unique for NOT having a skeletonized dial. It is 48mm wide in 18k King gold. Clearly the green and gold tones are meant to match the WBC belt that is given to the best fighters. On the rear of the watch is a graphic that looks like the front of the noteworthy belt. The auction for the Hublot Knockout WBC watches will be in Las Vegas in September 2012.[ Source ]
Hublot - The $5 Million Watch
By EDITORIAL STAFF
Presented by Hublot at BaselWorld 2012, the “US$ 5 MILLION” watch – the most expensive watch of the fair – has been sold to The Hour Glass Singapore.
It will be showcased first in the Hublot boutique in Marina Bay Sands, and then in the Hublot corners at The Hour Glass boutiques.
It is a unique piece, an exceptional and incredibly rare feat. And a completely different approach was used for its creation. Unlike an Haute Joaillerie piece, where the design and technical construction are created to "emphasise and serve" stones which have already been selected, the opposite approach was adopted. The diamond cutters started with a design and then found the diamonds which best matched the complex construction of the case, dial and bracelet. Cutters and setters then employed all of their expertise to resize them to ensure a perfect fit.
First challenge: to develop the design of the Big Bang, whilst retaining its graphic codes to ensure it cohesively integrates more than 3 carats of diamonds. Once the technical design was finalised, then the diamonds had to be found and combined. It took one year for the largest stones which came from all four corners of the world, and the same for the 1276 others. Every stone was individually selected to ensure that all were of a consistent quality and colour. They then had to be resized, one by one, to make them a perfect fit for the watch. A renowned "master cutter" from New York with over 40 years' experience was responsible for single-handedly cutting the largest GIA-certified stones to ensure they all had the same cut "signature".
It was a lengthy process to complete: 14 months of work for all the different disciplines combined, including 7 months' work for 12 cutters, and the same for the 5 setters, with all the major specialists working on the piece full-time. A total of 1282 diamonds, more than 100 carats of baguette diamonds, a dazzling expression of the work of the best craftsmen in their field.
This watch can be considered as a veritable collection of diamonds. Like a collection of paintings. Each was individually chosen in relation to the others to create a harmonious whole. This is the most precious watch ever created by Hublot and its long-standing partner, Atelier Bunter in Geneva. The diamonds selected by Hublot are all of the highest quality, graded A VVS in clarity and Top Wesselton in colour.

Hublot Oceanographic 4000 for Only Watch 2011
By EDITORIAL STAFF
For the 4th edition of Only Watch, Hublot is proud to support the event with the presentation of a unique, brand new Oceanographic 4000.
Unique, because it is the very first piece in a new family of ultra technical watches - not yet delivered - developed by Hublot to be able to dive to extreme depths of up to 4000 m. Brand new because, to distinguish itself from those that will follow, it possesses an aesthetic balance perfectly in keeping with the principality, featuring red and white indexes to reflect the colours of the Monaco flag.
In addition, the Oceanographic 4000 takes its name directly from the "Musée Océanographique de Monaco" (Monaco Oceanographic Museum) with which Hublot enjoys a partnership. A particularly fitting creation for the principality, the venue and birthplace of the Only Watch initiative.

Hublot $3 Million Big Bang Watch
By EDITORIAL STAFF
It actually costs only 2 million euros - but that is close enough to 3 Million dollars to call it that right? This year Hublot makes another big bang with this baguette diamond covered 18k white gold Big Bang tourbillon watch. This follows up the Million Dollar Bing Bang from a few years ago that used black diamonds. The $3 Million Big Bang has something like 142 carats of diamonds all over the case, dial, and bracelet. Most of them are large baguette-cut stones and they look marvelous.
The 18k white gold bracelet is stunning with all the diamonds. There is a blinding amount of bling, and that is just what Hublot was going for. The watch speaks as much to other brands as it does consumers about Hublot's market stance. Inside the watch is an in-house made caliber HUB 6003 manually wound tourbillon movement with off-centered time display. Pieces like this are made to order for the right type of people. This isn't the type of watch you can just walk around in. Though at the right social event, the guy wearing the diamond encrusted Hublot that sells for an obscene price might have his taste and sanity questioned, but certainly not his success.

Hublot Masterpiece MP-01 watch for those who like grand complications
By EDITORIAL STAFF

It’s not a Big Bang watch this time from the
house of Hublot. Renowned Swiss watchmaker has now announced the
new Masterpiece Collection, which seems to be
the brand’s answer to its fans and collectors asking for a non
Big Bang or King Power-inspired watch for a long time. Pictured
above is the Hublot Masterpiece MP-01 watch, the
first Hublot barrel-shaped watch that has been developed and
manufactured by the Confrerie Horlogere Hublot (a team of 30 of
the skilled watchmakers within Hublot).
The dial of the watch has been ingeniously open worked to reveal the stunning mechanisms of the watch. The movement is manually wound, has 240 hours of power reserve and a 30-minute monopusher chronograph. The calibre offers a 10-day power reserve owing to its three barrels working in series. The indicator hand is positioned on the back of the watch.
The Masterpiece MP-01 will be produced in a limited run of 100
pieces, with each costing around $80,000.

Hublot Big Bang Polo de Paris Limited Edition Watch
By EDITORIAL STAFF
I am amazed at just how many events the Big Bang watch can have a special, limited edition version of, and still seem to make sense. Whether it is music, culture, auto racing, or here, Polo, the Big Bang collection has a limited edition watch for the occasion. While no design is that versatile, Hublot seems to pull it off with their ability to be everywhere, all the time from a brand image standpoint.
The watch here started as a record, where a game of Polo had a team getting 80 goals, in an event sponsored by Hublot. Called the "Hublot, Perfect Polo Match," this statement is placed on the back of the as an image on the sapphire exhibition crystal. The "Paris" part of the watch name has to do with the fact that the commemorative match took place in Paris. Hublot is a sponsor of the Swiss Polo team, as part of the Polo Gold Cup Gstaad, and reaffirms their dedication to the sport. This makes polo fans happy I am sure, as well as players on the Swiss team who are pretty happy to each be getting on of these limited edition watches.
It has a 44.5mm case made of titanium and ceramic in all black tones that Hublot is famous for as well as a vertically textured rubber strap. Movement is the HUB44 automatic chronograph. One thing confuses me, so don't let it confuse you. There are two versions of the images of this watch. One with a subsidiary seconds dial at 9 o'clock, and one as seen here without. Another curio of the watch world... Look out for more Hublot polo themed limited edition watches in the future.

Will Miami Beach Polo Finally Make Money?
By EDITORIAL STAFFWith the Miami Beach Polo World Cup having recently wrapped up, organizers are finally hoping to turn a profit from the sport of kings in the glitzy locale, the Miami Herald reports. A seven goal performance by Argentinean Matias Magrini lead the way for the Hublot team as it scored an exciting 11-9 victory over the previously undefeated AMG side in the finals of this year's exciting championship. After taking a loss on their first few seasons – despite the seemingly perfect convergence of sexy polo matches and the money-worshipping enclaves of South Beach – the event's producers say they'll finally be in the black when the accounting is done this time around.
The only locale in the U.S. where polo is played on sand, spectators can watch for free from the sidelines while those wanting champagne, open bar and a catered lunch pay $150 for VIP tickets in the beachside tents. Helping things along this year was Mercedes-Benz – AMG, which signed on as a sponsor and set up a track by the arena for test drives of the new SLS AMG in addition to fielding a team. With a fashion show in the VIP tent and after-parties at the Delano and Shore Club hotels, the event is designed to appeal even to those who aren't that into the sport itself. If all goes well, organizers hope to bring a polo tournament to Chicago this fall. Check out the video footage and gallery for beautiful babes, thoroughbreds, and cocktails galore.
